The Setting

Yellowstone, the Tetons, and the Henry's Fork — all from here.

Island Park sits at the corner where Yellowstone's west entrance, Harriman State Park's blue-ribbon Henry's Fork, and Mesa Falls all converge inside an hour of driving. The Tetons rise to the south. This is the country Idaho locals bring their families to.

Most of our guests come once for the park and come back for the river.

  • Yellowstone National Park's west entrance, 25 min – 1 hr away
  • Henry's Lake — trophy cutthroat fishing & private lake access
  • Harriman State Park & the Henry's Fork — fly fishing's home water
  • Mesa Falls Scenic Byway — waterfalls, pull-offs, easy hikes
  • Hundreds of miles of UTV, ATV & snowmobile trails
  • Teton range views from the East & West Retreats

Frequently Asked

A few of the questions we hear most.

Practical answers to what guests ask before they book — distances, group bookings, what's included, and what to plan for.

Don't see your question?
Email grandviewpmid@gmail.com or call (208) 821-4034.
  • How far are Grandview's cabins from Yellowstone National Park?
The Lodge at Cutthroat Landing on Henry's Lake sits about 25 minutes from Yellowstone's west entrance. The Teton View Retreat — East and West Cabins in Ashton are roughly one hour from the west gate, with Teton range views from the property — well-suited if you also plan to visit Grand Teton National Park.
  • Can large groups book multiple cabins together?
Yes — and groups frequently do. The Teton View Retreat — East and West Cabins sit side-by-side and are commonly booked together for combined groups of up to 68 guests. We coordinate multi-cabin stays across the collection for family reunions, corporate retreats, weddings, and milestone celebrations.
  • What's the best time of year to visit?
June through September is peak season — prime time for Yellowstone visits, fly fishing the Henry's Fork, and Henry's Lake cutthroat fishing. Winter (December through March) is a different kind of magic, with hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails accessible from the cabins. Shoulder seasons offer the lowest rates and the smallest crowds.
  • What airport should I fly into?
Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is closest, about 90 minutes by car. Bozeman Yellowstone International (BZN) is roughly two hours and offers more direct flights from major hubs. Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) is about two hours, the most expensive option, and best suited if you also plan to visit Grand Teton.
  • What's included with a stay?
All cabins include linens, towels, fully equipped chef's kitchens, hot tubs, fast Wi-Fi, and dedicated parking. The Teton View Retreats include theater rooms, pool tables, air hockey, shuffleboard, and game rooms. The Lodge at Cutthroat Landing includes a private boat ramp on Henry's Lake and pickleball court access.
  • Are pets allowed?
Pet policies vary by property. Please review individual property pages or contact us before booking to confirm pet accommodations and any associated fees.
  • How much is the deposit, and when is the balance due?
A 30% deposit secures your dates. The remaining balance is charged 30 days before check-in. For stays booked within 30 days of arrival, the full amount is due at booking. We accept all major credit cards. You'll receive a clear receipt and the contact for your local manager the moment a reservation goes through.
  • Can multiple families split the payment for a reunion or group trip?
Yes — most of our group bookings work this way. The lead booker secures the reservation with the deposit; the balance can then be split across additional credit cards we collect before the 30-day balance window. Email or call us when you book and we'll coordinate the split so no one's covering the whole thing on a single statement.
  • Is there a minimum night stay?
Two nights minimum year-round across most properties; three or four nights during peak summer weeks (mid-June through August) and major holiday weeks (Christmas, New Year's, Spring Break, July 4). The booking widget on each property page enforces this automatically — if your dates don't meet the minimum, it'll tell you immediately.
  • What does the cleaning fee cover, and how much is it?
Cleaning fees range from $250 to $850 depending on property size — the exact fee is shown in your quote before you commit. It covers full housekeeping, linen and towel laundering, hot tub sanitization, restocking of basics (paper, soap, dishwasher and laundry detergent), and a property condition check. No surprise add-ons; what's quoted is what you pay.
  • Is there a damage deposit, and how does it work?
We hold $500 (smaller cabins) to $2,000 (larger properties) as a pre-authorization on your credit card 48 hours before check-in. It's released within 72 hours after check-out assuming no incidents. We don't nickel-and-dime — broken wine glass, scratched bowl, the kind of normal stuff that happens with twelve people in a kitchen doesn't get charged. Real damage gets a written explanation and itemized cost before any charge.
  • What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel more than 60 days before check-in, minus a $50 administrative fee. Between 60 and 30 days out: 50% refund of the deposit. Within 30 days: deposit is non-refundable but transferable to alternate dates within 12 months if availability allows. Example: book a $4,000 stay with a $1,200 deposit, cancel 75 days out, refund is $1,150 to your card.
When you book with Grandview

Three things that don't happen elsewhere.

What you actually get when you book through us instead of going through an OTA. No price math — just what's different.

01 · Real human

Local 208 area code. Not a Salt Lake call center.

We answer (208) 821-4034 from 8am to 8pm Mountain. After hours, you get a callback within two hours. Property questions go to someone who has actually been inside the cabin.

02 · Flex cancellation

Cancel up to 7 days before check-in.

Full refund on cancellations 7+ days out. Within 7 days, we work with you — wildfire, illness, weather. Compare to OTA "strict" policies that take 50% if you cancel a month out.

03 · One bill

The quote you get is the bill you pay.

Cleaning fee shown up front. Damage hold returned on checkout. No surprise resort fees, no service fees that show up only at the final screen.
